Works on Paper (WOP)

"During my successful period 1926-29 I worked for important architects. The most successful was Albert Kahn in Detroit. However, I had experienced such disappointments in decorative work in America that I withdrew from this activity just before the crash (stock market 1929). I decided to paint pictures. It hadn’t escaped my notice that Kreti and Pleti had long since overrun art and found Beilfall (approval). I saw the shrinking of the art goal - the overemphasis on the intention to the detriment of the Kunat (art) – result. So I began in silence and drew what I wanted, what I thought would be good and deserve a glory." – Julius Moessel, Self Penned Biography, 1951.
